NBCUniversal International Television Production is taking a minority stake in Lark Productions, the producer of Real Housewives of Vancouver and a new series based on real-life drama in Vancouver General Hospital's emergency room.

Under the terms of the deal, NBCUniversal will own a minority stake in the Vancouver production company and will have a "first look" and distribution agreement on the companies titles.

In addition to the reality TV series Real Housewives of Vancouver, Larks also produced the crime series, Motive for CTV.

Lark also has a new series, premiering January 21 on Knowledge Network, based on real-life drama in Vancouver General Hospital's emergency room called Emergency Room: Life and Death at VGH.

Under the agreement with NBCUniversal, Lark founder and president Louise Clark said she plans to "scale up" operations, and is now on the hunt for a new chief operating officer.

"We have tremendous confidence in Louise and her team," Michael Edelstein, president of NBCUniversal International Television Production, said in a release.

"Our working relationship with Lark has been incredibly fruitful over the past three years, and we are immensely proud of what they have accomplished."

"I am genuinely delighted to further strengthen what is already a fantastic creative partnership with NBCUniversal," Clark said. "Michael and the team share our passion for making great television, and we're already talking about a number of exciting new projects"
