In a few short months, halls will be decked and lights will be strung in preparation for the most wonderful time of the year.
Christmas in Vancouver means the homecoming of one of the city's favourite holiday events, the German-inspired Christmas Market that takes place at Jack Poole Plaza.
The event made its triumphant return post-COVID last year and will be happening once again in 2022 with plenty of food and live entertainment to keep the merriment going for its six-week run.
The market kicks off on Nov. 12 and runs until Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) with a mix of local and German vendors serving up confectionery and Bavarian delicacies like pretzels, bratwurst, raclette, waffles and of course, Glühwein (mulled wine) alongside B.C. craft cideries and distilleries.
There will be interactive light displays like the walk-in Christmas tree, a "lovers lane" light tunnel complete with mistletoe, and a life-size photo frame on the WinterDeck plus a carousel, and love locks installation for peak romance.
For kiddos, there's a scavenger hunt that will keep them moving around the market looking for their next holiday-themed item, and you can win prizes at the end.
The entertainment schedule hasn't been announced yet but acts will be teased on the market's social media in the lead-up to opening.
Tickets are on sale now and are $4 off until Oct. 10.
