A Vancouver snowboard maker is the only B.C. finalist for a national young entrepreneur award.
Max Jencke, owner of Endeavour Snowboards Inc., hopes to win $100,000 in the Business Development Bank of Canada's Young Entrepreneur award.
Endeavour Snowboards has increased revenue by 250% over the past four years. In addition to snowboards, the company makes clothing and facemasks, and runs an "R&D lab" for developing new designs in its Railtown location. If he wins the award, Jencke plans to use the funds to expand into the U.S. market.
"To reach each brand's full potential going forward, we need to invest in marketing and technology improvements," said Jencke. "Successfully penetrating the U.S. market will punch up our sales and profitability, and will also improve our growth potential internationally."
