Canada’s consumer price index nudged up by 0.9% in March after rising by 2.2% in February. That’s the steepest monthly drop in annual inflation since 2006. This report notes the numbers reflect the pandemic’s heavy downward pressure on prices and demand: “In particular, prices in the energy and travel and tourism sectors were falling even before travel restrictions were put into full effect mid-March. – BNN Bloomberg
