It looks like Vancouverites looking to party on the Vegas strip or take their families to Disneyland will have a few more travel options.
Air Canada announced March 25 its leisure carrier, Air Canada Rouge, is offering flights from YVR to vacation destinations like Las Vegas and Los Angeles once it launches this spring in Western Canada.
The carrier, which launched last summer in Toronto and Montreal, went on a hiring campaign in January to find 110 flight attendants based in Vancouver to work on the planes.
A number of existing Air Canada routes will be converted to the Rouge service, which uses planes that can squeeze in more passengers to cut down costs for the airline.
Rouge will also begin offering daily flights from Vancouver to Anchorage and San Francisco starting in May and July, respectively.
By December, it plans to open a seasonal service to Phoenix.
