A Vancouver restaurant chain has taken home gold in the Canadian Franchise Association’s (CFA) annual Awards of Excellence in Franchising in the new or emerging franchise category.
Browns Socialhouse, which has been in business since 2004, is the first restaurant to win gold in this category. The chain currently has a total of 27 restaurants, mostly in British Columbia, with one in Alberta and four in Saskatchewan, as well as three locations in Washington State under the Scotty Browns brand.
“This is an incredibly exciting and important award for us,” said Bruce Fox, COO and vice-president development for Browns Restaurant Group.
“This award speaks volumes about the quality of work our franchise owners achieve through their unrelenting passion and dedication towards making the Socialhouse concept and vision a success in each market they enter.”
Criteria for the award included having a demonstrated dedication to franchisee relations, teamwork and communications, and are ranked specifically in terms of leadership, training, support and marketing.
The company has plans to expand into Manitoba and Ontario in the near future.
