Vancouver-based Browns Restaurant Group (BRG) plans to open as many as 10 restaurants in Calgary over the next seven years.
The company currently operates 15 Browns Socialhouse eateries in B.C., as well as two Scotty Browns restaurants in Bellingham, Washington. BRG also plans to open another location in Seattle and to enter the Toronto market by 2015.
In Calgary, BRG will work with a group of experienced restaurant investors: lead partner Gord McCormick, operations manager Greg Taylor, director of business development Chad McCormick and president and general manager Chad Taylor.
“We are enthusiastic about bringing our brand to Calgary,” said Bruce Fox, chief operating officer of Browns Restaurant Group.
“Its booming economy and residential spread will enable Browns to serve multiple neighbourhoods.”
The company says it will have 50 restaurants in operation by the end of 2014 in Western Canada.
