There will soon be more options for Vancouver's fast-foodies looking for something different at lunchtime.
Vancouver City Council announced the approval of 15 new food trucks yesterday, which are expected to be operational later this month.
The new vendors bring the total number of food trucks in Vancouver to 114, and will offer a range of cuisines from Belgian waffles to Filipino fusion.
“Vancouver’s street food program continues to grow, showcasing some of the best culinary talent in our city,” said Mayor Gregor Robertson.
“Our street food vendors are gaining international accolades, and this year’s additions are enlivening our streets with even more diverse flavours.”
Five of the new vendors will be located outside the Queen Elizabeth Theatre along Hamilton Street. Other new locations include:
- the Olympic Village SkyTrain station;
- Abbott Street near Rogers Arena;
- Victory Square; and
- Beach Avenue.
