The number of tourists coming to British Columbia continues to grow, according to data released by Destination BC.

Overall, the number of visits from international tourists increased 16.8% in the first quarter of 2016. Visits from Taiwan, France and Mexico saw the steepest increases. For France and Mexico, the increase was likely linked to new direct flights linking Vancouver to Paris and Mexico City.

The low Canadian dollar continues to be a bonus for B.C. tourism, while good skiing conditions this year also likely contributed to the strong numbers.
