Athletic-wear maker Lululemon Athletica Inc. (NASDAQ:LULU) has brewed up something different.
Stanley Park Brewing launched a specialty beverage called Curiosity Lager July 20. The product has Lululemon branding and is being called a “SeaWheeze Release,” referring to Lululemon’s SeaWheeze half-marathon and yoga festival taking place August 14 and 15 at Stanley Park’s Brockton Oval.
“We wondered what would happen if Stanley Park Brewing teamed up with fellow Vancouverites Lululemon Athletica,” Stanley Park said in a release.
“We share a deep sense of pride and connection to Stanley Park, our hometown forest-in-the-city, and unbridled enthusiasm for a cold beer after an invigorating run on the Seawall.”
Stanley Park brewmaster Todd Fowler developed the recipe, which is a craft lager with 4.6% alcohol content and a citrus aroma. Lululemon designed the branding, with Stanley Park’s input.
The product is available in individual tall 500ml cans in British Columbia and Alberta. As well, the beer will be available at SeaWheeze.
The companies say the beer will be available “for a limited time.”
Stanley Park teased the product in several tweets July 15.
