One of Vancouver’s few remaining exotic dance clubs will reopen March 22, following a fire that forced it to close in November.

The Penthouse nightclub on Seymour Street caught fire early on November 30.

The club will have a grand reopening March 22 featuring music by local rockabilly band Six Gun Romeo. Doors are scheduled to open at 7 p.m. with “classic late-night naughtiness” to follow at 10 p.m., according to a press release.

The Penthouse is one of only three strip clubs left in Vancouver. The former Cecil Nightclub closed nearly two years ago, leaving just the Penthouse, No. 5 Orange and Brandi’s Exotic Show Lounge.

The club is owned by Danny Filippone, whose grandfather, Guiseppe Filippone, bought an empty lot on Seymour Street and built the Penthouse in 1938. It was a restaurant before it became a nightclub.
