Tourism attractions and performing arts groups are offering free admission through a new so-called “Inspiration Pass” that is available through the Vancouver Public Library (VPL).

Mayor Gregor Robertson unveiled the program at the VPL’s central branch October 24.

Starting November 1, passes will be available for library card holders to borrow for a two-week period once a year. Holds can be placed for these passes right now.

The passes provide free admission for a family of two adults and up to four children or a group of up to six young people, aged 14 to 18 years old.

Some of the venues participating include the Vancouver Aquarium, Science World, Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, H.R. MacMillan Space Centre and UBC Museum of Anthropology.

Pass holders also get free admission to fitness centres, swimming pools, skating rinks, pitch and putt courses and botanical gardens.

“In a city consistently voted among the best and most livable in the world, we’re inviting residents to rediscover why,” Robertson said.
