U.S. barbecue restaurant chain Famous Dave’s is, together with a group of franchisees, seeking to open restaurants in Vancouver, the chain’s director of franchise development Brett Larrabee told Business in Vancouver on Friday.
“We’re working with a franchise group that wants to go into Vancouver and into the other western provinces,” he said. “We’ve found the right market areas. Now we’re looking for the right deals.”
He expects any openings would be at least “nine to 14 months out.”
He explained that because Famous Dave’s (Nasdaq:DAVE) is a public company, he was unable to say more.
The company owns 53 locations and franchises 133 additional restaurants in 35 states. It also has a restaurant in Winnipeg, which Larrabee said was one of the chain’s strongest locations.
He believes Vancouver is a market where his company could have “huge” growth.
