It is now officially summer, and Canadians are heading outside to beat the heat while they eat.
Fortunately for Vancouverites, this city is full of options when it comes to outdoor dining as almost 20% of the country’s top 100 such restaurants are right here in Metro Vancouver.
Online restaurant reservations site OpenTable used 275,000 restaurant reviews from around the country and came up with the list of the best establishments that were ranked as “great for outdoor dining” and found 19 of the top 100 were in Metro Vancouver.
A further 10 restaurants from around British Columbia made the cut, giving the province the second-highest number of top outdoor restaurants in the country after Ontario, which had 41.
"Most Canadians can only enjoy outdoor dining for a few months out of the year, and summer is a very popular dining season for us as locals and tourists take advantage of our vibrant outdoor ambience, from the lush surroundings of Stanley Park to the charming elegance of Niagara-on-the-Lake,” said Bryan Huehn, OpenTable Canadian manager.
