The Rosewood Hotel Georgia has come in at number 16 on TripAdvisor’s 2014 Travellers’ Choice list of the top 25 hotels in the world.
The Hotel Georgia, located at the corner of Howe and Georgia in downtown Vancouver, first opened in 1927. In 2011 it unveiled a $120-million renovation.
The hotel interior features carved columns and mahogany paneling throughout and is decorated with contemporary artwork, and also boasts a 52-foot saltwater lap pool.
The hotel boasts past noteworthy guests such as Frank Sinatra, Bette Davis, Elvis Presley and John Wayne.
Of 678 reviews on TripAdvisor, 615 guests have given the hotel an “Excellent” rating, while 44 guests rated it as “Very good.”
Only one other Canadian hotel made the list: Toronto’s Trump International Hotel & Tower, at number 10.
