British Columbia’s most well-known ski resort saw a 26% increase in ski-season vistors and a 26% increase in revenue growth, reflecting the strong season and much better weather most B.C. ski hills experienced this year.
Whistler Blackcomb’s (TSX:WB) total revenue increased to $241.8 million in the six month period ending on March 31, 2016, the highest revenue growth the company has ever seen, said CEO Dave Brownlie.

This year, El Nino brought an early dump of snow and bookings were up early in the season. Ski resorts hoped to finally capitalize on the low Canadian dollar, and saw a boost in visitors from the United States, Australia and Europe.
As of writing, Whistler Blackcomb shares were trading at $26.89, down from $27.59 at market open.
