More than 65 companies seeking to hire business students and graduates will be at the province’s largest job fair aimed solely at business students and graduates of Simon Fraser University (SFU) the University of British Columbia (UBC) or the University of Victoria (UVic).

Business Career Expo is today, March 8, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Segal Graduate School of Business. Any students or graduates of those universities’ business programs can attend for a $10 fee with student identification.

Business Career Expo manager Rochelle Diablo told Business in Vancouver March 7 that she expects more than 1,000 students to attend the ninth annual event.

“Some companies are attending for public relations purposes but the bulk of them are hiring for current positions or for the next six months,” she said.

SFU launched the event in 2004 and brought UBC on board in 2006. This is the second year that University of Victoria degree-program students and alumni are also invited to attend.
