Adam Bellas has been appointed partner and showroom manager at SwitzerCultCreative, the sustainable furniture design company founded by Bellas’ mother, Renee Switzer, in 2012. Bellas spent more than 15 years at William Switzer & Associates Ltd., the furnishing company his grandfather founded in 1952.
Hospitality/Tourism/Convention
Steve Sammut has been appointed president at Rocky Mountaineer. Sammut joined the company in 2012 as executive vice-president and CFO. Prior to joining Rocky Mountaineer, Sammut was CFO with Intracorp Projects Ltd.
Legal
Luke Dineley and Edward J.T. Wang have been promoted to partners at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP’s Vancouver office. The firm recently promoted 11 other lawyers in its Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal offices. Stephen D. Holmes has joined the firm’s Vancouver office as counsel in the firm’s tax group. Holmes practises in estates and trusts, purchase and sale of a business, corporate tax and family wealth counsel.
Gowlings has welcomed 17 new partners to its firm-wide partnership. Two partners, Jonathan Ross and Michael Schalke, are based in Gowlings’ Vancouver office. Ross joined Gowlings in 2010 and practises primarily in the area of commercial restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency. Schalke specializes in employment and labour law and is the leader of the employment and labour group.

Sarah Otto has joined the Nature Trust of BC’s board of directors. Otto is a professor in the department of zoology at University of British Columbia and is director of the Biodiversity Research Centre in theBeaty Biodiversity Centre.
Real estate
Scott Veitch has been elected board chair by the board of directors at the Real Estate Errors and Omissions Insurance Corp., effective February 1. Veitch is licensed as the managing broker of Century 21 Veitch Realty in Creston and has been active in the real estate industry for more than 31 years.
Roy Anderson has been promoted to executive director at the Kelowna-based regional head office of Re/Max and will oversee the company’s member services in Western Canada, information and technology, events and corporate affairs departments. Chris Jameson has been promoted to senior co-ordinator, product development, and Shawna Witty has been promoted to billing administrator. Two full-time employees have also joined the Kelowna office: Carol Hutman has been appointed financial analyst in the finance department and Jeff Racz has been appointed web services support technician in the IT department.

Timothy Charles Moody has been appointed to the board of directors of Prism Resources Inc. Moody has more than 30 years of experience in the mining industry, including mineral exploration, resource assessment, business development, strategy and government relations, including 24 years with Rio Tinto.
Victor Bradley has been appointed non-executive chairman of the board of Nevada Copper Corp. Bradley has been lead director of Nevada Copper since 2013. He is a chartered professional accountant with more than 50 years of experience in the mining industry, having founded, financed and operated several mining and advanced-stage exploration and development companies.
Technology
Lisa Crossley and Sameet Kanade have been appointed CEO and director, and president and chair of the board, respectively, at Moseda Technologies Inc., a technology company focused on developing progressive mobile health and telemedicine solutions for institutional and home health care. Crossley most recently served as CEO of VitalHub Corp. Kanade has been actively involved in the Canadian technology industry over the past 10 years, having worked within equity research at several firms, building upon his prior experience in the technology venture capital world.

New Partnership
The accounting firm of Morine & Co. has partnered with Gregory A. Wahl, founding member and managing partner of Anton & Chia LLP. The new partnership is called Anton, Bryson & Schindler Chartered Professional Accountants LLP and will be used to run joint projects between Canadian and U.S. companies while continuing to serve existing clients, allowing the firms to work together as a single entity.

New Westminster resident Jennifer Thompson donated $10,000 to Family Services of Greater Vancouver’s Caring Neighbours Program in New Westminster. The donation will enable the program to help all of the nearly 200 New West families who asked for support in 2015.
Aragon Properties, the parent company of Port Royal Village Development Inc., donated $15,000 to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation in support of the hospital’s greatest-needs campaign.
DDB Canada’s annual fundraiser, ShareDDB, raised $17,000 in total for the James Lee Foundation, a scholarship fund created in memory of a DDB staff member, and the Music Therapy Ride Bandwagon project, a multi-site music therapy program that enables music therapists to travel throughout B.C.’s Lower Mainland.
Aon Risk Solutions donated $10,000 to the British Columbia Children’s Hospital Foundation. Funds were raised through Aon’s first annual golf tournament, held on September 1, 2015, at the University Golf Club.
Chevron Canada Ltd. donated a total of $25,000 over the past two years to the CKNW Orphans’ Fund, supporting special-needs children in B.C.
Telus donated $3,000 to BC Family Hearing Resource Society in support of its online education program.
Jim Pattison Toyota Downtown donated more than 80 “gifts of warmth” packages to the Union Gospel Mission, for distribution to Vancouver’s homeless. These packages include Stormtech jackets and other winter gear to help those in need weather the winter elements.
RBC Dominion Securities’ Coquitlam office donated $2,500 to the RBC Dominion Securities Community Investment Award that supports business students at Douglas College who volunteer in their community. •
