James Greenan has been promoted to branch manager, Vancouver, at On Side Restoration. Greenan joined On Side Restoration in 2011 as a project manager and was then appointed manager of the company’s Abbotsford branch in 2013. Greenan has nearly 20 years of experience in the restoration industry and has held a variety of positions, including carpenter, operations manager and project manager.
Peter Buckland and Peter Taylor, principals and founders of Buckland & Taylor, have recently retired. Both engineers have been invested into the Order of Canada for their individual contributions to bridge engineering. Some notable bridge projects include Alex Fraser, Lions Gate, Golden Ears, North Arm, Ironworkers Memorial, William R. Bennett, Angus L. Macdonald, Confederation and Golden Gate, plus over 200 more.
Finance
Bill Cunningham has been appointed district vice-president at TD’s Fraser Valley commercial banking centre located in Surrey. Prior to this appointment, Cunningham was manager, commercial credit, for TD in Richmond. Cunningham currently serves as chair of Simon Fraser University’s board of governors and is a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal recipient for community service.
Sandra Wu has joined DMCL Chartered Professional Accountants as supervisor in its assurance group. Wu has more than 10 years of experience providing audit and assurance services to public companies, private enterprises and not-for-profit organizations. She was previously a senior accountant at Davidson & Company LLP.
Hospitality/Tourism/Convention
Lori Janson has been appointed director of destination development at Tourism Vancouver. Janson has more than 20 years of experience in community relations, strategic corporate communications, marketing and government and media relations.
Edwyn Kumar has been appointed general manager at Chambar. Kumar has more than 20 years of experience, including time spent at Nu, Lumière, Cin Cin and most recently as general manager and wine director at Hart House in Burnaby.

Erin Hatch has joined Harper Grey LLP as an associate with the banking and insolvency, commercial and family law groups of the firm. Prior to joining Harper Grey, Hatch articled and practised with Rush Ihas Hardwick LLP, a boutique commercial litigation firm in Kelowna.

Tina Coleman has been appointed director, support services, at Variety – The Children’s Charity. Coleman’s recent positions include controller for the Mercer Creative Group and the New Car Dealers Association of BC.

Steve Blacklock, a commercial property appraiser with Courtenay-based Wm. S. Jackson & Associates, has been elected president of the British Columbia association of the Appraisal Institute of Canada.

LMS Reinforcing Steel Group’s 13th annual golf tournament raised $75,000 for the new Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Dave Lede House in Abbotsford. LMS also contributed $100,000 worth of steel for the new facility, which will form a Campus of Care with the Abbotsford Hospice Society’s Holmberg House, an adult hospice, and Matthew’s House, a respite home for children with complex health-care needs.
The Corp. of the City of North Vancouver, the District of North Vancouver and the Corp. of the District of West Vancouver donated $1,000, $3,200 and $500, respectively, to Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland. These funds will help support mentoring matches on the North Shore.
Craft Beer Market and Granville Island Brewing donated $3,128.70 to the Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society toward the rebuilding of the society’s boathouse, which was destroyed by fire last year.
Cloverdale Paint and Coast Capital Savings donated $1 million and $300,000, respectively, to the Surrey Hospital and Outpatient Centre Foundation. The funds will go directly to the 10-bed child and adolescent psychiatric stabilization unit at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
Scotiabank donated $5,000 to Arts Umbrella, in support of its Theatre Performance Outreach program in local schools.
The Lohn Foundation and Ames Family Foundation donated $3,000 and $10,000, respectively, to the Down Syndrome Research Foundation.•
