Education
Catherine Riggins has been appointed VP, marketing and alumni relations, at Royal Roads University. Riggins joined Royal Roads in 2010 as director, branding, marketing and recruitment. Prior to joining the university, Riggins served as director, marketing communications, sponsorship and brand, Canada Post.
Finance
Brian Rogers has joined Westminster Savings Credit Union as SVP, commercial operations, and chief credit officer. Rogers was previously with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union where he held the position of VP, corporate development.
Jason Tuffs has been appointed CEO at MNP LLP, replacing Daryl Ritchie, who will continue as the company board’s chair. Tuffs has been with the accounting firm since 2004.
Non-Profit
Iris Jin has joined the Asia Pacific Foundation as its new program manager (trade, investment, innovation and Canada-China relations). Jin joins the foundation from the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, where she held concurrent positions as deputy director, office of international co-operation, and associate research professor, institute of economics.
Kevin Falcon, former minister of health and minister of finance, British Columbia, and Heather Buckley, owner, Old Spaghetti Factory, have been appointed to the board of Lions Gate Hospital Foundation.
Real estate
Janet Miller, a licensed realtor, has been appointed director of sales at Rennie & Associates Realty. Prior to this appointment, Miller was with Re/Max Select Properties in Vancouver and held positions in Toronto and Montreal with Shoppers Drug Mart and Procter & Gamble.

Chang (Geoffrey) Xiaogang has been elected executive chairman of the board of Western Potash Corp., following the closing of the investment from Beijing Tairui Innovation Capital Management Ltd.
Martin Schady, partner, Magris Resources, has been appointed to First Quantum Minerals Ltd.’s board of directors.

Josh Fehr has been appointed executive creative director at Camp Pacific. Fehr was previously creative director at Tribal DDB. Neal Davies and Kyle Brownlow have also joined Camp Pacific, as head of digital and head of user experience, respectively. Davies was previously senior digital project manager at Essence Digital in London. Brownlow has worked at some of Vancouver’s top agencies as an accredited art director, designer and UX specialist. Brownlow’s past work includes projects for clients such as Destination BC, Money Mart, MTS, Telus and Buy Local Eat Natural.
Technology
Amanda Munro has been appointed VP, public relations, of CloverPoint. Prior to joining CloverPoint, Munro worked for Peak Communicators. She will be working from the Vancouver office of the Victoria-based land management solutions company.
Mario Ramos has joined TSO Logic, a Vancouver-based global company that develops metrics and automation software for data centers, as director of finance and operations. Prior to this appointment, Ramos was a manager in the management and technology consulting group at PwC.
Terence J. White has joined TSO Logic as executive vice-president. White has led several technology companies such as IPC Information Systems, IP Blue, Aligned Energy and Inertech.

Vancouver-based asset-management firm Leith Wheeler Investment Counsel has teamed up with Yukon College in Whitehorse to create bursary awards of $7,500 annually. Leith Wheeler will provide 15 bursary awards worth $500 each to 15 students each year.
Lions Gate Road Runners donated $1,500 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. The funds were proceeds from the group’s recent Oasis Shaughnessy 8K Run and 5K Poker Walk.
Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Woodward’s Foundation donated $41,349 to Burnaby Hospital Foundation. The funds will go toward electrosurgical units for Burnaby Hospital’s surgical department.
Wales McLelland Construction donated $10,000 to Sources, in support of its Infant Development Program. Funds were raised through the construction company’s second annual sub-trade appreciation golf tournament.
United Way donated $25,000 through its School’s Out grant towards Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland’s Study Buddy program in Surrey. First West Foundation donated $6,000 towards mentoring programs in Delta.
Blue Sky Clothing Co. donated $2,087 to Decoda Literacy Solutions in support of Decoda’s province-wide campaign, Literacy Is Life. The company donated a percentage of sales from five locations across B.C. from September 8 (UNESCO International Literacy Day) to September 10.
The British Columbia Shopping Centre Association donated $10,000 to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. The funds were raised by the association’s members at its annual golf tournament at University of British Columbia.
The Scleroderma Association of BC donated $52,285 to St. Paul’s Hospital Scleroderma Clinic. The funds will go towards the second phase of a genome study of scleroderma biomarkers being done through the Scleroderma Clinic.
Canada Post Community Foundation donated $10,000 to the Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association (CTRA), which offers therapeutic riding and equine-based therapeutic services for persons with special needs. The funds will support the hiring of a program assistant, and with the support of the foundation, CTRA anticipates welcoming 15 additional children to the program.•
