The construction crane that has perched above Pacific Centre’s 725 Granville redevelopment for two years was removed last week, marking a milestone in the development of a high-tech employment hub in Metro Vancouver.
The Cadillac Fairview project, which is transforming the former Sears store into office and retail space, will welcome Sony Pictures Imageworks and computer giant Microsoft into the office sector. Imageworks has taken 74,000 square feet and Microsoft has signed an 11-year lease on 143,000 square feet and is expected to require at least 400 workers when it opens next year.
Meanwhile, U.S. retailer Nordstrom will open its 230,000-square-foot location at Pacific Centre in the fall of 2015.
