Vancouver real-estate entrepreneur Darren Latoski, 44, passed away September 7 after a battle with cancer.
Latoski was CEO of WesternOne Inc. (TSX:WEQ) as well as being co-CEO of Pure Industrial Real Estate Trust (TSX:AAR.UN) (PIRET) and co-founder and executive chairman of Pure Multifamily REIT LP (TSX-Venture:RUF.U).
“We are deeply saddened to have to say goodbye to Darren,” said Rick Turner, who is chairman of PIRET. “His talent and boundless energy helped lead the trust to its current success.”
PIRET’s co-CEO Steve Evans will become the company’s sole CEO and continue to also be CEO at Pure Multifamily REIT. WesternOne, meanwhile, has appointed Robert King as acting CEO.
Latoski had more than 22 years experience in the commercial real estate sector and was also a principal of Sunstone Realty Advisors.
PIRET and Sunstone combined to be involved in more than $1.3 billion in properties across North America in the past decade.
Latoski also earned an MBA at Simon Fraser University.
