Condominium builder and developer Marcon is teaming up with Vancouver-based CONDOday on Saturday to sell the last 18 of 108 condominiums at its Cornerstone development in Langley.

Sales first launched in April 2010.

Buyers who sign up for a free membership at CONDOday – which is similar to Groupon but for real estate – can, on September 29 only, get a discount of between 15% and 21% on units that normally sell for between $159,900 and $235,365.

That means discounts will range between $29,000 and $46,000.

"With CONDOday, buyers get a better deal than they could ever get on their own, and it's free," said Cam Good, president of The Key, which launched CONDOday.

Good's first experiment with CONDOday was earlier this year when he sold units for the Tien Sher Group's Quattro development in Surrey.

Sluggish home sales across Metro Vancouver have been prompting marketers to use novel sales techniques and technology to convince buyers to invest in developments.

New Westminster-based Pilothouse unveiled a glass-walled presentation suite inside Surrey's Central City shopping mall in March that was inhabited with actors who got visits from celebrities during mall hours.

That publicity stunt helped spur sales for Rize Alliance Properties' Wave development at 133rd Avenue and 104th Avenue in Surrey.

Pilothouse also sold all 76 units in a New Westminster project within an hour at a November launch for developer Tridecca Developments.

That launch involved a presentation suite where projectors beamed light from the ceiling in the shape of full-size floor plans so prospective buyers could determine how big their suite would be.
