Royal LePage Real Estate Services has acquired Coast Realty Group, a property management and brokerage company located mostly on Vancouver Island.

Coast had over 150 staff members who are now employees of Royal LePage, effective immediately.

“This important acquisition is consistent with our goal to give Canadians everywhere access to the superior service that only comes from working with one of our uniquely trained and equipped realtors, Royal LePage president and CEO Phil Soper said in a release.

“We have made growth in the all-important British Columbia market a strategic priority and the focus has paid huge dividends.”

Soper said in the past year, Royal LePage has added 600 realtors to its team through acquisitions.

Coast’s Nanaimo, Ladysmith and Gabriola Island offices will merge into Royal LePage’s Nanaimo location. Coast also has locations in Port Alberni, Ucluelet, Parkesville-Qualicum Beach, Hornby, Denby Island, Cumberland and Union Bay. These will merge into Royal LePage’s Port Alberny, Courtnay and Parksville offices.

Coast’s only mainland location – located in Powell River – will convert to Royal LePage within the next two months.

“With this acquisition, Royal LePage extends our lead as the largest brokerage firm on Vancouver Island,” Soper said.
