Copper Mountain Mining Corporation (TSX:CUM) had record production in its southern British Columbia mine in 2014’s first quarter.
The company produced 19.1 million pounds of copper in Q1 – an increase of 34% compared with the same period last year. The concentrate included 5,400 ounces of gold and 105,300 ounces of silver. Ore production totaled 2.6 million tonnes.
The announcement comes before the company’s official financial results are released. This is scheduled for May 2.
The mid-tier copper mining company’s main asset is the Copper Mountain Mine, located 20 km south of Princeton, British Columbia, which has been producing since 2011. Mitsubishi Materials Corporation owns 25% of the mine. Copper Mountain has the target of producing 80-90 million pounds of copper this year.
