Former deputy premier and minister of finance Kevin Falcon has joined the board of directors of Vancouver-based West Kirkland Mining (TSXV:WKM).
According to the company, Falcon was selected for his political experience overseeing large-scale infrastructure projects such as the overhaul of the Sea-to-Sky Highway, the Canada Line and the new Port Mann Bridge.

Kevin has extensive senior executive experience at the highest levels of in the Government of British Columbia and was widely viewed as a highly capable minister of multiple senior portfolios," said R. Michael Jones, West Kirkland CEO.
"With his reputation for accomplishment and strong communication and leadership attributes, I look forward to working with him as a board member,"
West Kirkland is working on an economic assessment of the TUG gold deposit in Utah. Once the assessment is completed, the company said it will proceed with obtaining work permits from US regulators to begin engineering work on the deposit.
Falcon is also the executive vice-president of Anthem Capital Corp. He is the recipient of both the Queen's Diamond and Queen's Jubilee medals.
