Pulse Energy, a Vancouver company that helps business reduce energy consumption, now has a foothold in Australia.
The company has signed an agreement with Australian power utility Ergon Energy. The agreement follows on another one signed earlier this year with British Gas to provide Pulse Energy software as a white label service to 600,000 business customers.
Pulse Energy now has major utility customers in British Columbia (BC Hydro), the United States, the U.K. and Australia.
“What’s really interesting in Australia is they’ve got a competitive energy market, so these retailers fight against one another the way cell phone companies compete with one another here,” said Pulse Energy co-founder and CEO David Helliwell.
“So they’re using software to provide more value to their customers to manage their energy better.”
Helliwell founded Pulse Energy in 2006 with Greg Kerfoot, the former CEO of Crystal Decisions Inc., which was eventually acquired by SAP AG (NYSE:SAP).
Pulse Energy analyzes energy consumption and provides businesses with information on how reduce their energy consumption.
