EY has released the list of finalists for its 21st annual Pacific Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
The awards recognize entrepreneurs from all areas of business, and criteria include vision, leadership, financial success and social responsibility.
“The future of entrepreneurship in Canada — and here in British Columbia — is brighter than ever,” said EY Pacific Entrepreneur Of The Year program director Lui Petrollini.
“Our Entrepreneur Of The Year finalists defy the odds, and the impossible, to reach new heights — for themselves, and their country.”
The finalist companies in the Pacific region represent 5,000 jobs, and combined with those in the other regions across the entire country, the total is 37,000 jobs.
Finalists from Canada’s 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year awards had average revenue growth of 37% year-over-year in 2014 – eight percentage points above the global average of 29% for developed countries.
Pacific winners will be announced at a gala on September 30, and the overall Pacific winner will attend the national gala in Toronto on November 25.
