Vancouver shoppers aching to spend money on high-end clothing will have a lot more selection by the end of 2016.
Holt Renfrew announced April 24 it’s expanding its downtown store with 40,000 square feet of additional space, including a restaurant and new luxury shopping options.
The upscale clothing retailer also plans to build a private 1,000-square-foot apartment, accessible through an express elevator, which will be offered to customers on an invite-only basis.
Clients will be able to shower, play video games, hold a fashion show or just relax inside while the rest of the family shops. The only caveats — no overnight visits are permitted and the invitation is only good for a year.
“Determining who we invite is a blend of an art and a science,” Holt Renfrew president Mark Derbyshire told Business in Vancouver.
The Vancouver outlet will remain open for those who can’t hold off until the store expansion is complete.
