Holy Crap Cereal CEO Corin Mullins has been chosen by EY to participate in its 2013 Entrepreneurial Winning Women program, making her one of only two Canadian women to receive this honour.

This is the first year Canadians are being included in the program, which is an executive leadership program geared toward high-potential female entrepreneurs whose businesses demonstrate strong potential to grow.

"Entrepreneurs – and women – play a vital role in any healthy and vibrant economy, creating jobs and driving growth," said Carrie Marchitto, EY's Entrepreneurial Winning Women leader in Canada. "But despite robust growth in the early stages, many women entrepreneurs struggle to find the resources needed to continue to scale their businesses towards market leadership."

Marchitto explained the program helps these women access capital, identify advisers and put plans in place to grow their companies.

Participating companies see an average annual growth of nearly 50% after the program.

Holy Crap makes organic, non-genetically modified allergen-free cereal. The company was founded in 2009 and Holy Crap Cereal is now sold in 2,500 stores. It was also eaten by astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

Mullins and her husband Brian appeared on CBC's Dragons' Den in 2010, generating over $1 million in a week after the show aired. In 2012, Dragons' Den declared Holy crap to be the most successful company they've ever worked with.

The other Canadian participant is Kelsey Ramsden, president of Belvedere Place Development Ltd. located in London, Ontario. Belvedere place is a general and civil construction contractor.

The remaining 10 participants are from the United States.
