Vancouver’s Sustainable Produce Urban Delivery (SPUD.ca) will launch a back-to-school program in which it will raise funds for local charity Breakfast for Learning, the online grocer announced September 3.

SPUD said it will be donating $5 from each order of $70 or more between September 1 and 15 to the charity, which educates communities about the benefits of school-based nutrition programs.

“We know our customers believe in supporting their local communities and this seemed like the perfect fit,” said SPUD.ca CEO Peter Van Stolk.

“There are a lot of children in our communities who start their school day without breakfast or go to school without a healthy lunch to eat; we wanted to help change that and get our customers involved too.”
