It’s official: Moncler will be opening a stand-alone retail store in Vancouver.
The Italian luxury chain has only one Canadian location – in Yorkdale Mall in Toronto – and eight stores in the United States, including branches in Aspen, New York, Honolulu and Los Angeles. The closest Moncler store is in Bellevue, located in the Seattle area.
“As of now the opening [in Vancouver] is planned for September but neither the timing nor press release are finalized,” Edward Padron, account manager for public relations firm C&M Media told Business in Vancouver via email.
The luxury chain had previously looked at space in downtown Vancouver at the Carlyle building, located at the corner of Alberni and Thurlow Streets, according to Brodie Henrichsen, principal at Northwest Atlantic (BC) Broker. Tory Burch and De Beers already have stores in this building. As of press time, it could not be confirmed whether or not this was where the new store would be located.
Moncler sells high-end clothing for men and women, including outerwear and t-shirts. Spring jackets and coats retail in the US$1,800-US$2,500 range.
