Burnaby’s Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (TSX:RBA) sold $64 million of equipment at an auction in Edmonton September 4-5, the company announced September 6.

The auction had more than 825 sellers – a company record for the most sellers in a single auction.

“We’ve been conducting auctions in Alberta since 1964 and today it’s one of our strongest markets,” said Jim Rotlisberger, regional sales manager for Ritchie Bros.

“We’re very proud to have helped more sellers in Edmonton this week than we ever have before in a single auction anywhere in the world.”

This milestone comes a week after the company announced it had set a company record for the most items ever sold at an auction in Texas. Gross auction proceeds for this two-day sale were over US$53 million.

“We value our customer relationships greatly because they've helped us become the largest seller of used equipment and trucks in the world,” Rotlisberger said.

“They come back time and again because they trust our unreserved auctions.”
