Rob Mackay, president of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (TSX:RBA), announced his retirement July 5.
According to a press release, Mackay will remain with the company until October 31, 2013.
Mackay has worked with Ritchie Bros. for 28 years.
“Rob has contributed very effectively in so many ways to the success and growth of our company,” said Peter Blake, CEO of Ritchie Bros.
“He has travelled hundreds of thousands of miles over the past 28 years and devoted his time and energy to help build the Ritchie Bros. global business into the industry leading position we have today. Earlier this year, Rob took a role on the board of an agriculture dealer with a view to transition to the next phase of his business career.
“We wish Rob the very best for a happy and healthy retirement, and offer him our heartfelt thanks for all he has done to make Ritchie Bros. what we are today.”
Ritchie Bros. ranked 28th on Business in Vancouver’s most recent Top 100 Public Companies list. The company employs 1,376 people and had a net income of nearly $80 million in 2012.
