On International Women’s Day, March 8, RBC and Women of Influence have announced the call for nominations for the 2013 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards.

These awards recognize Canada's most successful women entrepreneurs, especially those whose businesses and achievements have significantly contributed to the national and global economies as well as to their communities.

“Through our long-standing partnership with Women of Influence, RBC is proud to honour and showcase successful women entrepreneurs across Canada,” said Kim Ulmer, RBC vice-president of small business.

“Women entrepreneurs are an integral part of the Canadian economy and their stories and successes are nothing short of inspirational.

“We invite you to come in and talk to an RBC Business Account manager today about nominating a female entrepreneur who inspires you.”

Awards are presented in the following categories:

  • the Deloitte Start-Up Award;
  • the Hub HKMB Impact Award;
  • the RBC Momentum Award;
  • the TPH Sustainability Award;
  • the Trailblazer Award; and
  • the PROFIT Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship.

Carolyn Lawrence, president and CEO of Women of Influence Inc., said, “Canada needs more women entrepreneurs – to challenge the status quo, innovate new ways of doing things, and make our country better.

“The purpose of the awards is to provide national recognition and therefore a leg-up to Canada's star women entrepreneurs.”
