Vancouver-based Absolute Software (TSX:ABT) has inked a four-year deal worth US$975,000 with an undisclosed client in the Asia-Pacific region, the data protection firm announced November 6.
The client, a global insurance company based in Japan, can't be disclosed due to the confidential nature of Absolute's business. The deal will see Absolute's cloud-based data protection used to secure and track thousands of Fujitsu Windows tablets.
This is not Absolute's first foray into the region. Last year, the company opened a corporate office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and it has remote workers in other parts of Asia.
"Absolute Software has seen strong business growth in the Asia-Pacific Region over the past year," said Mark Grace, Absolute Software's vice-president, Asia-Pacific.
"We are the industry standard in persistent endpoint security and management solutions and more prospects in this region are realizing what we provide – the ability to track, manage and secure all devices from a single console."
Absolute Software is ranked at number 18 on Business in Vancouver's list of the biggest B.C.-based tech companies in 2013, and is on 2013's list of fastest-growing companies in the province.
