Absolute Software Corp. (TSX:ABT) announced October 24 that it plans to grow through acquisition and confirmed that its products are compatible with both Apple Corp.'s recently launched OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and the Windows 8 operating system that Microsoft Corp. is set to launch today.

"Acquisitions will be an integral part of the growth strategy for Absolute over the course of the next 12-month period," said Absolute CEO John Livingston.

"We are focused on targets valued at US$25 million and less and will likely finalize a deal at the lower end of the range within the next 90 days."

The Vancouver-based company's release hinted that its acquisitions will likely be in the U.S., where the majority of its customers are located.

Absolute has more than 30,000 customers and its products help customers locate stolen computer hardware and devices.

Business in Vancouver reported last month that Absolute opened an office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
