B.C. business community asked to vote for favourite tech startup, angel

B.C.'s business community is being asked to weigh in on a nationwide award for tech startups. Companies and individuals nominated for the Canadian Startup Awards include Vancouver firms Indochino and Payfirma, HootSuite founder Ryan Holmes and angel investor Mike Edwards.

B.C.'s business community is being asked to weigh in on a nationwide award for tech startups. Companies and individuals nominated for the Canadian Startup Awards include Vancouver firms Indochino and Payfirma, HootSuite founder Ryan Holmes and angel investor Mike Edwards.

The awards are co-sponsored by Techvibes and KPMG.

Indochino and Payfirma are on this year's shortlist in the category of Best Canadian Startup for 2012 and are up against four companies from Eastern Canada.

Holmes is up for Canadian Entrepreneur of 2012, and Edwards is nominated in the Canadian Angel Investor category.

In the category of Most Significant Acquisitions of 2012, former Vancouver startup Summify is nominated. Last year Summify was acquired by Twitter.

Anyone who wants to cast a vote has until 11:59 p.m., January 25. Winners will be announced January 28. To vote, click here.
