Now that you are (or are close to) entering your forties, what goals have you set for yourself? 

To be the best father I can possibly be.

What was your childhood career dream?

To be a movie score composer.

Top of Khybers on a day with 20 centimetres and my friends, my family waiting for me at Dusty’s.

What was your toughest business or professional decision? 

Whether to sell my last company. I knew that it would bring lots of opportunities but perhaps at the cost of destroying the precious culture we had built.

What advice would you give your 20-year-old self? 

Study harder... but not too much harder. 

What is your best habit? 

I am in the habit of remembering small details, which can serve to be useful later on.

I can speak Dutch.

Best piece of advice ever received? 

Nobody will ever look at the grades you got on your transcript in pursuit of your degree.

Biggest learning (about life or business) during the pandemic?

The pandemic made it even more abundantly clear that opportunity awaits those willing to create it.

What career highlight are you most proud of?

Leading the team that created the first-ever natural psychedelic drug candidates.
