Vancouver’s BroadbandTV (BBTV) is seeing rapid growth, including an increase in monthly impressions of 150% over the past 13 months, reaching 2.5 billion impressions on YouTube.

This rapid expansion has made it necessary to expand into the United States, the company announced November 19, with the opening of an office in New York City.

“We’re already the third largest multi-channel network globally and serve tens of thousands of content owners and creators in the U.S.,” said BroadbandTV founder and CEO Shahrzad Rafati, who was a Business in Vancouver Forty Under 40 winner in 2012.

“The New York offices will further allow us to strengthen our partnerships with leading brands and advertisers as we continue to target opportunities surrounding the shift of ad spends to the digital space.”

The company will remain headquartered in Vancouver. It now has plans to further expansion internationally, with moves into both the South American and the European markets.

This is the media company’s first foray into the U.S. The office is located in Midtown Manhattan, “the heart of the city’s prominent advertising community,” the company said, to support its U.S. ad sales team.

BBTV has partnerships with the NBA, A&E, Sony Pictures and FremantleMedia North America’s Tiny Riot!.
