Burnaby-based IWG Technologies Inc. (TSX-V:IWG) has signed an agreement with a Brazilian aircraft manufacturer to provide onboard water purification systems.
IWG, which is a holding company for International Water-Guard Industries Inc., announced Tuesday it has signed a letter of intent with Embraer SA in Brazil for the installation of its ultraviolet water purifiers on Emraer’s Legacy 600 and 650 aircraft.
“This is an important milestone for both IWG and Embraer,” said David Fox, IWG’s president and CEO.
“For us, this is the beginning of a formal relationship with a very important and growing airframe manufacturer. For Embraer, this marks the introduction of active ultraviolet water treatment as a product option for their business jets.”
A company spokesman would not say how much the deal is worth.
In addition to water purification systems for aircraft, IWG also makes on-demand hot-water systems for showers in private jets.
