A subsidiary of Delta's Avcorp Industries (TSX:AVP) has landed a contract to design and manufacture floor panels for Bombardier Aerospace's Learjet 85 business jet.
Comtek Advanced Structures, a subsidiary of Avcorp, already supplies the floor panels for Bombardier's Q400 turboprop, as well as its CRJ700, CRJ900 and CRJ1000 regional jets.
"Comtek is excited to expand its long-term relationship with Bombardier as a Tier 1 design-build supplier," said Comtek president Patrick Whyte.
"As a specialist in composite aircraft structures, we are well-positioned to grow as the use of composites in new aircraft designs continues to increase."
Avcorp's deal with Bombardier is just the latest in a number of agreements and contracts Canadian companies have been announcing this week at the Singapore Airshow – one of the largest aerospace trade shows in the world.
Bombardier announced that it will open a commercial aircraft sales and marketing office in Singapore to serve the Asia-Pacific region, and Victoria's Viking Air used the airshow to announce it has received orders for 15 new Twin Otter airplanes for customers in six countries.
