Three startups from Vancouver and one from Calgary have been chosen to participate in GrowLab's spring 2014 program, the startup accelerator announced March 7.
The startups will get up to $30,000 in seed funding, as well as being eligible for $150,000 for further funding from BDC.
"All of the companies that we selected have real traction and are in growing and valuable markets," said executive director Jonathan Bixby.
This session's startups were chosen from more than 350 applications. They are:
- BitLit (Vancouver): distributes free or discounted eBooks to those who own physical copies of the books;
- Ethical Deal (Vancouver): promotes and provides discounts for products deemed to be ethical or environmentally friendly;
- Spark CRM (Vancouver): helps in the selling and marketing of real estate; and
- PrintToPeer (Calgary): allows users to remotely print using a 3D printer.
The session will kick off in Silicon Valley to give the entrepreneurs the opportunity to network with leaders in the tech sector.
