Social media dashboard HootSuite has gained a real-time chat function, Vancouver-based HootSuite Media, Inc. announced this morning.
The company has announced the beta version of HootSuite Conversations, which builds on the HootSuite Teams functionality announced this past spring.
According to HootSuite, the new chat tool will allow work teams to simplify communication and collaborate.
"Conversations will increase efficiency between teams or departments and ultimately improve ROI," HootSuite CEO Ryan Holmes said. "Now, true social collaboration can happen around campaigns or trending topics that impact business immediately."
The company said the function will, among other things, send social media messages to internal conversations so that work teams can discuss a response strategy and communicate a company-approved response.
