Vancouver’s HootSuite has appointed Ken Mandel as managing director for Asia Pacific (APAC), the social media management company announced October 9.
Singapore-based Mandel has worked in leadership roles in the APAC region for 20 years. His prior roles include regional vice-president of APAC for Yahoo.
“He is a skilled business leader with passion about the convergence of marketing and technology,” said HootSuite CEO Ryan Holmes.
“His insights will help push widespread enterprise adoption of HootSuite across the Asia Pacific region and I am pleased to welcome him to our executive team.”
The company plans to aggressively increase its presence in the APAC region, focusing on Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Japan and Australia in particular.
In August, HootSuite raised $165 million in series B financing – the largest deal in Canadian venture capital history for a software company.
