In the wake of a recent debacle in which Vancouver's Lululemon Athletica Inc. (Nasdaq: LULU; TSX:LLL) had to recall a shipment of pants that turned out to be see-through, the yogawear maker has launched a free app for iPhone to help users keep in touch with the world of yoga, according to technology blog Techvibes.com.
Om Finder allows users to find yoga classes, studios and teachers in 63 countries around the world. Over 7,000 studios and 30,000 instructor profiles are included.
The app uses the location-based features in the users' iPhones to locate the nearest amenities.
Users can add friends using Facebook Connect, SMS and email, and invite them to classes.
Techvibes reports that this is the first digital experience built by Lululemon in-house, and that it reached first place in the Canadian App Store's Health and Fitness category.
Other yoga class locators in the App Store include Mindbody Yoga 3.0 and Moksha Hot Yoga.
The app is not yet available for Android.
