Vancouver's LX Ventures (TSX-V:LXV), the high-tech incubator headed by venture capitalist Mike Edwards, announced May 3 that it is acquiring startup Sosido Netorks for what is believed to be in the $300,000 range.
Sosido is an online health-care knowledge exchange community is designed to improve the way healthcare professionals share information and collaborate.
Last month, LX bought Vancouver startup Mobio Technologies, which connects fans with entertainers. Earlier this year, LX bought Weeve.it, a crowdfunding platform for charities.
"Sosido has recently commercialized and is seeing strong growth of its platform and users, so the timing of the acquisition is ideal for LXV," Edwards said.
Edwards is the founder of the high-tech accelerator GrowLab and has invested in a number of successful startups, including Punch'd, which sold to Google in 2011, and Summify, which was acquired by Twitter last year.
