The External Development Summit, dubbed XDS, has chosen the Vancouver Convention Centre as the site of its inaugural event next week.
The event – scheduled for September 3-5 – targets industry professionals involved in outsourcing aspects of video game production such as art, animation and software engineering.
Notable participate at the conference are: Brian Nader, a senior vice-president at EA, Colin Plenty, technical art director at Black Tusk Studios and Grayson Chalmers, outsource manager at Blizzard Entertainment.
“Vancouver provides the perfect platform for XDS 2013,” said the XDS advisory group in a joint statement.
“The city is Canada’s hub for the video games industry and the Vancouver Convention Centre is one of the most beautiful and modern conference venues in the world. It was the right one for year one.”
