A Vancouver startup will capitalize on a captive audience of dentists at this week’s Pacific Dental Conference to launch connectthedoc.com, an online appointment booking system.
Developed by Nadeem and Nasheel Kassam – twins whose parents are dentists – connectthedoc.com was beta-launched in November and is already being used by a number of medical clinics in the Vancouver area.
The system provides an online booking system that allows people to search for openings and book appointments in medical and dental clinics, as well as chiropractors’ and physiotherapists’ offices. It also allows for patient reviews.
“Dentistry has been a family business for us, and we’ve seen first-hand the challenges associated with growing a clinic,” said Connect the Doc CEO Nadeem Kasaam.
“Our platform ultimately solves many of the daily operational and marketing challenges that clinics face on a daily basis.
Clinics that use the system pay a subscription fee, but the patients using it are not charged.
According to the Kassams, patients benefit by being able to find appointments that fit their schedules and subscribers benefit by picking up new patients and filling openings that would otherwise go unfilled.
The Kassams will officially launch connectthedoc.com March 8 and 9 at the Pacific Dental Conference at the Vancouver Convention Centre, which last year attracted 12,000 dentists.
