Thanks to Netflix's lax approach to policing its international catalogues, Canadians (and other free peoples) could access just about any Netflix content on the planet by using VPNs and unblocking services.

Nothing was forbidden to us: American sitcoms in the U.S. catalogue, televnovas in Costa Rica, Better Call Saul (the current season!) in Beligum.

Apparently a high percentage of us did just that for months and years. Too many, because Netflix surprised many of us by truly cracking down on border hopping starting last month.

Now we're back where we started: isolated, unarmed and wondering where our next content rations will come from.
